Switzerland to increase all VAT rates from 2024

Switzerland to increase all VAT rates from 1 January 2024

As a result of a referendum held by the Swiss authority in September 2022, the VAT rates will be increased in the country from 1 January 2024.

Under these changes, the following VAT rates will apply from next year to supplies taxable in Switzerland: the standard VAT rate is increased from 7.7% to 8.1%, the reduced VAT rate is increased from 2.5% to 2.6% and the special rate for accommodation will be raised from 3.7% to 3.8%.
