France transfers VAT registration-related formalities to the INPI portal

On 1 January 2023, the French government transferred all VAT registration, changes of company details and deregistration requests to the online one-stop shop of the INPI, the French National Institute of Industrial Property. Moving forward, such company formalities must be submitted on the portal called β€˜formalitΓ©s entreprises’. However, no changes apply to VAT reporting obligations on the existing impots-gouv platform.

By making taxpayers and agents use the INPI portal, the government is trying to streamline and simplify the management of formalities for businesses.
